Architectural Partition

The Architectural Partition zooms in on the Bursar System and describes the functionality areas within the system. This includes IT systems and processes as well as processes carried out by people, which are labeled as such using the stick man icon. The arrows in the diagram show the flow of data between the different parts.

Accounts Receivable - This system acts as a middleware between any account charge/payment and the Banner Financial System. It is highlighted as it is the key system in the Bursar Office.

Tuition Management System - This system is a payment portal for account holders and authorized payers to view their bills, payment history, and statements as well as make payments and set up payment plans.

Financial Aid - This process gathers scholarship information and updates student balances accordingly.

Banner Financial - This system stores account balance data which is modified by Accounts Receivable.

CBORD - This system stores meal plan balances and gets updated from Banner Financial.

Fees and Charges From Departments - This is a process carried out by administrators within the Bursar Office. Fee requests are collected from departments in many different forms and then sent the Accounts Receivable system.
